Surface modification
Ension possesses world-class experience in the engineering and modification of surfaces to improve their performance. With respect to medical products, the areas of blood compatibility, tissue integration, infection resistance, and drug delivery are all applications for an optimized, engineered surface. A particular focus has been development of a heparin-based coating for blood contacting cardiopulmonary products that demonstrates increased bioactivity, permeability to oxygen and carbon dioxide, and cost-effective application.
