Dialysis
The importance of middle-weight molecule transport in the effective treatment of patients requiring dialysis continues to be underscored. However, the majority of efforts have been focused on only modifying the physical properties of the dialyzer membrane that, while important, represent only one facet of the options available to produce a more effective product. Ension is currently pursuing a development project focusing on both the membrane and modifications to the fluid environment to achieve increased transfer efficiencies - particularly of middle-weight molecules - with an overall reduction in device surface area and inflammatory response.
