Ension Bioactive Heparin Surface

Ension’s biocompatible surface modification can be applied to almost any configuration of materials. The surface of stents can be modified to ensure a minimal thrombogenic response. The graph below compares the thrombin generation of non-treated stents (blue) versus surface modified stents (red). The test was performed using human platelet rich plasma (PRP) under static conditions. In the untreated stents, the onset of thrombin generation is observed at 20-25 minutes whereas the surface modified stents exhibit minimal thrombin generation.
